This policy statement reflects Enmasse’s unwavering commitment to ensure to the best of our ability that there is no modern slavery in any part of our business operations.

Our core values include:

  • Human Rights: We respect and protect all people, and promote principles of freedom, equality, respect and dignity.
  • Accountability: We do what we say we are going to do, and we care about the outcome.

Modern slavery is antithetical to our core value of human rights. Our commitment to accountability helps us to ensure we remain focused on eliminating modern slavery from any part of our business.

We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships and, where possible, to ensuring modern slavery is not taking place in our own business or supply chain.

Our business also expects its service providers, suppliers and contractors to share our commitment to act lawfully and ethically and to work to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place within its organisation or within its supply chain.

Definitions

The term ‘modern slavery’ describes situations where coercion, threats or deception are used to exploit victims and undermine their freedom. Coercion, threats and deception can be explicit or implicit.

The UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 defines modern slavery to include slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking.

Under UK law, modern slavery is defined and addressed in the Modern Slavery Act 2015. In cases of any discrepancy, the definitions and stipulations within the Act take precedence over this policy.

The Australian Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) ‘Act’ defines modern slavery as including eight types of serious exploitation; trafficking in persons, slavery, servitude, forced labour, forced marriage, debt bondage, the worst forms of child labour and deceptive recruiting for labour or services.

The worst forms of child labour means extreme forms of child labour that involve the serious exploitation of children, including through enslavement or exposure to dangerous work. The worst forms of child labour does not mean all child work.

Under Australian law, modern slavery is defined in the Act. In the event of any inconsistency, the definitions in the Act take precedence over this policy.

We are committed to conducting our business dealings and relationships with the utmost integrity and ethical standards. This includes taking proactive steps to ensure that modern slavery is not present in our business or within our supply chain in the UK or Australia.

We also expect our service providers, suppliers, and contractors in the UK and Australia to align with our values, committing to lawful and ethical conduct and actively working to ensure that modern slavery does not exist within their organisations or their supply chains.
