Leader toolkit for preventing role overload

Leaders are legally obligated to prevent role overload, not just manage its symptoms. This practical workshop equips people managers with the knowledge and tools to identify, assess and address excessive job demands before they become a psychosocial hazard. Participants explore what the Commonwealth Code of Practice says about high job demands, learn to conduct a structured workload audit, and develop skills for having direct, psychologically safe conversations about capacity.

The session also addresses role clarity as a hidden driver of overload, and builds leaders confidence to escalate structural resourcing issues when individual-level interventions are not enough. Includes practical tools to take back to the team immediately.
