Bio

Monica Blacker is a seasoned board advisor, restructuring specialist and former BigLaw partner with over two decades of experience guiding organisations through complex financial, legal and governance challenges. A commercial litigator by background, she built her career advising creditors, debtors and boards on high-stakes restructurings and distressed situations, developing a reputation for clear thinking, strategic judgement and calm under pressure. Monica has served as an independent director, chief restructuring officer and senior advisor to both public and private companies. She works closely with boards and executive teams on strategy, risk, restructuring options and stakeholder management, and is frequently engaged to advise on compensation, governance and diversity, equity and inclusion. Her experience spans sectors including financial services, energy, real estate and professional services. A long-standing advocate for women in leadership and inclusive workplaces, Monica speaks and writes regularly on leadership, resilience and equity in the legal and financial sectors. She holds a Juris Doctor (cum laude) from Southern Methodist University, has completed law studies at the University of Oxford, and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from James Madison University.
