ActNow: mental health crisis response

Designed for people and HR leaders, HSE and trained mental health first aid responders, this critical leadership training builds capability in the area of managing mental health crises at work, including extreme emotional responses. Dealing with trauma-related episodes may also be covered on request.

Providing mental health first aid to another colleague can put team members in a very uncomfortable situation, especially if they have not had adequate training. Developing a few practical skills to help people in distress can make all the difference. This 4-hour workshop includes a number of crisis role-plays in which participants practise out an easy-to-recall framework for responding to crisis situations with the emphasis on minimising risk for all involved, including the organisation. We will also examine and demystify some of the meltdowns we might observe at work in the context of the mental health conditions they typically relate to.

This workshop includes a 15-minute pre-learn module and completion certificate.
